First round matchups, brackets set for high school football playoffs

The regular season is officially in the books and nearly half of the state's high school football teams have been eliminated in the race to the Super 7 at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Just 16 teams remain in Class 7A and 32 remain in each classification from 6A down to 1A. All region champions have been determined and all tiebreakers have been sorted through as the AHSAA has officially released its postseason brackets for all seven divisions.

The playoffs will kick off the first week of November with the three-day Super 7 event starting Nov. 30. See the full list of first round matchups below. You can see the full brackets on the AHSAA website.
