Auburn extended its winning streak to three games Saturday when it took down Mississippi State, 69-63.
The Tigers took the floor Saturday night in front of their home crowd which saw the return of students from winter break. When watching a Bruce Pearl coached team, we’re conditioned to expect the unexpected, and what no one inside Neville Arena expected Saturday night was for Jaylin Williams to put on an offensive clinic in the first half.
"My teammates trusted me. They're always telling me to shoot the ball," said Williams, who made 5 of 7 3-pointers.
Auburn (14-3, 3-1) struggled with Mississippi State on the glass well into the second half, and in a game which came down to a possession-by-possession battle, it was Auburn’s Wendell Green Jr. who took the pressure shots, and helped guide Auburn to yet another victory on their home floor.

"All of a sudden now the game is ours," Pearl said of Green's sequence. "Making plays on both ends of the floor. It's what you have to do to win."
"I'm experienced. Coach trusts me out there," Green said. "I have experience from last year. My guys expect me to take care of the ball at the end of the game and make my free throws. It's what's expected."
The orange and blue will now hit the road for its next two games beginning Wednesday in Baton Rouge where Auburn will pay SEC rival LSU a visit at 6:00pm on ESPN2.
