The Alabama Sports Writers Association announced its annual high school basketball awards at a banquet Thursday including naming the 2023 Mr. and Miss Basketball awards.

Hoover's Reniya Kelly was selected as Miss Basketball, capping off a high school career filled with plenty of accolades. Last month, Kelly led the Bucs to their fourth state championship in five years. She was also recently named the 2022-23 Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year for Alabama.

During her final season, Kelly averaged 14.7 points, five assists, five rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. After the championship game, she was named the state final MVP for the third straight year. She becomes Hoover's first Miss Basketball winner since 2013 when Marqu-es Webb won. Kelly is the third winner in program history.

Kelly is considered a four-star prospect on ESPN's recruiting rankings and has committed to play for North Carolina.
