Taco Bell is bringing back a fan-favorite menu item that was discontinued in 2013.
The fast-food chain held a vote on the Taco Bell app for fans to decide which item should return to its menu. On Friday, the company revealed that the Enchirito edged out the Double Decker Taco.
"This one's all you, #TeamEnchirito. The Enchirito™ will be back for a limited time starting 11/17," the restaurant noted on Twitter.
The Enchirito originally launched in 1970, just eight years into Taco Bell's existence.
"The Enchirito is made up of a soft flour tortilla, loaded with seasoned beef, beans and diced onions all rolled up and smothered with its classic red sauce before being topped with melted shredded cheddar cheese," Taco Bell noted.
It will only return for a limited time of about two weeks from Nov. 17 to Nov. 30.
Customers will be able to order it online, for delivery, through Taco Bell's app, or via in-store kiosks nationwide, according to the restaurant.
The vote marked Taco Bell's first-ever in-app vote, with rewards members determining which item will return for a limited time.
On the heels of the love and passion we saw for Mexican Pizza, we wanted to continue elevating the voices of our most loyal fans by giving them exclusive access to a uniquely digital experience that fosters brand love,” said Sean Tresvant, Taco Bell's Chief Brand Officer. “Nobody gets Taco Bell more than our community so we’re thrilled to empower them with this in-app voting experience that allows them to have a direct impact on our menu."
