An 84-year-old woman is proving it is never too late to learn.

Shirley Jones decided to work toward her GED at Pitt Community College in Greenville, North Carolina after her husband passed away, according to a release from the college.

The college said she has lived in Greenville her entire life and has two daughters and one grandchild.

Her achievements include being inducted into the National Adult Honors Society through Transitional Studies.

When asked what she liked most about the college she said she loved the personalities of the students and how nice they are.

Jones said she got to where she is by believing in herself and her dreams.

"Thanks Ms. Shirley Jones for setting an example that it’s never too late!" the college said.
