OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Police officers doing a welfare check found the woman they were looking for and then arrested her after an unusual situation.
It happened Monday evening in Oklahoma City.
Officers said they arrived and were toldAshley Webber was on the floor of the bathroom.
An officer went to the third floor and found the bathroom door closed.
But, according to the police report, a big part of the door was missing from the bottom, so the officer was able to see Webber inside on the floor.
The report said the officer announced his presence, but Webber didn't respond. The door was locked, so he kicked it several times, trying to open it.
Police said Webber made a groaning noise but couldn't respond or open the door. Eventually, the officer and other first responders tore the door off its hinges to get inside.
They said Webber had a lighter in her right hand, and aluminum foil with burn marks at the bottom, in her left.
The report said Webber became "more coherent and appeared in sound mind" when speaking with first responders, and thosefirst responders told police Webber voluntarily offered she'd been smoking 30 mg of Percocet.
Webber's two children were also in the home. Police said they were taken to a hospital to be checked for possible exposure to Percocet smoke, and possibly fentanyl.
Webber got medically cleared at another hospital and was then booked into jail.
It turned out, she had a misdemeanor warrant for neglect of family.
The35 year old was also charged with child neglect.
The children were turned over to another party.
