Man arrested after jumping onto stage of Impractical Jokers show, trying to punch security

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (KUTV) — A man was arrested after allegedly jumping onto the stage of an Impractical Jokers show at the Maverik Center and trying to punch security.

A West Valley City police officer said they wereinformed by security personnel that a man had gotten onto the stage at the show on Friday night.

The man, identified as 36-year-old Mark Gwilliam, was held by show security before they attempted to escort him out.

"I could see security was struggling with the male as he was pushing back on security, dragging his feet and being uncooperative," the officer reported.

Gwilliam was eventually taken out of the arena through a tunnel that led outside.

Once outside of the arena, police reported thatGwilliam was seen turning to security staff and attempting to punch them.

The officer said they tackledGwilliam to the ground out of fear that he wouldinjure venue personnel.

He reportedly continued to physically resist and failed to comply with orders.

Gwilliam was placed in handcuffs and arrested for criminal trespassing, intoxication and interference with an arresting officer.
