PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Officers arrested someone accused of driving a stolen forklift through downtown Portland on Tuesday.
People called 911 to report that someone was “driving erratically” in a forklift downtown and “chasing pedestrians.”
Portland Police Central Precinct officers caught up with the man while he was driving the wrong way on Southwest Harvey Milk Street at Southwest 4th Avenue.
This is not the first time someone has stolen a forklift and gone on a joyride downtown. A man was caught back in 2021 for stealing a forklift from the Portland Marathon. He was arrested last month on a bench warrant related to the crime.
