PAMPA, Texas (KVII) — A 'cold air' funnel cold was spotted in Pampa, Texas on Sunday.
These funnel clouds typically occur under weak showers or thunderstorms where the air aloft is very cold compared to a warm surface layer. The difference in temperature causes funnels to form.
The good news is cold air funnels rarely touch the ground or do any damage.
According to Pampa Emergency Management, this one touched down in an open field for 30 seconds. It did not cause any damage.
