An arrest was made Thursday in connection to a 2021 shooting in Birmingham that claimed the lives of two men.

The Birmingham Police Department said 19-year-oldKoreon Daisean Johnson was charged with capital murder in the deaths of 22-year-old Anthony Murray and 24-year-old Ronald Smith Jr.

The incident happened Friday, November 12 in the 1100 Block of 33rd Street Southwest.

Both men were found wounded and unresponsive in the backseat of a vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force arrested Johnson.

He was taken into the custody at Jefferson County Jail without bond.
