Woman's body found inside abandoned vehicle in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — A homicide investigation is underway after a woman's body was found inside an abandoned car in Birmingham Tuesday morning.

The Birmingham Police Department said the body of 31-year-oldAriel Cae Jones was found around 8:15 a.m. in the 8400 Block of 5th Avenue North.

Police said someone called and reported seeing the blue four-door sedan in a field for at least a day.

The Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
