Taxpayer money will not be used to help Birmingham-Southern College, says governor

'Parents need to be parents': Birmingham police chief speaks on murders of two students
Both teens were students at Jackson-Olin High School, but police said there is no connection between the two incidents and there are currently no suspects in custody. Read more here.
Forensic technology provides update in Tuscaloosa County cold case
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit said the county sheriff's office recently worked with the FACES Lab at Louisiana State University to create new images of the victim from the original photographs and medical records. Read more here.

3-year-old killed after being ejected from car during crash, struck by unknown vehicle
Officials say the 3-year-old and another 4-year-old passenger were not using seat belts or child restraints at the time of the crash and were both ejected from the vehicle. Read more here.
