A law enforcement agency investigating asingle-vehicle crash that killed three teens in Cullman County Friday, said the crash happened during a chase with police.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials said the 17-year-old driver of the pickup truck was attempting to elude a Hanceville police officer at the time of the crash.

The ALEA officials said the truck left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire. Three teen passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 17-year-old driver was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No additional details were provided, but ALEA officials said troopers with its Highway Patrol Division will continue to investigate.
